Get Rid of Moles Naturally

It has been a while since I posted about getting rid of moles or any other yard critter. The nice thing is a barn owl has decided to take residence on my property thus reducing the mole population. I still set a mole trap here and there but the owl does a rather nice job.

How To Get Rid Of Fleas

How to get rid of fleas boggles many people. Constant vacuuming works. A vacuum bag with a flea collar in it helps as it will help kill fleas. Another method of how to get rid of fleas is to use a shallow dish bellow a wall night light with a little dish detergent this helps kill fleas but make sure your pet has no access to that dish. Tea tree oil may not kill fleas but will help act as a deterrent if you place several drops in the dogs shampoo.

Mole Traps

Mole traps are the most effective way to exterminating moles. A mole trap such as a scissor trap or choker trap can be rather effective in eradicating moles. It is important you use gloves when handling traps that have no chemical residues such as pesticide or other chemicals as a mole will sence that more than the human scent you are trying to hide by wearing the gloves. If a mole trap has be set and there is no activity in 3 days it is probably a wise choice to relocate the trap. Happy mole hunting.

Slug Control

Garden Slugs are easily controlled. One can set up a perimeter of copper around prized plants to control slugs. Slugs will avoid crossing copper. To get rid of slugs the best method is to place beer in a shallow dish. One can always place a beer can with some leftover beer where the opening is level with the ground. Beer is a very effective slug killer. It is more effective than most commercial slug killers. It is also an effective snail killer and will control snails.

Get Rid Of Moles Summer

Get rid of moles in the summer? As the weather gets warmer and the soil is not as moist moles tend to dig deeper looking for food such as worms and grubs. You will still see mole hills but usually not as many. Mole Traps are still very effective but looking for active runways and tunnels gets a little harder. Using a probe to search around mole mounds will help and locating the trap 1-3 feet back from the mound is the most effective. When you push the probe in the soil you may feel a little give if you do you probably have located the tunnel. This may take a little practice but you should get the hang of it. Once you have located the tunnel set trap as usual.

Get Rid of Wasps

Sometimes I get rid of wasp with a can a wasp spray. It is the best way I have found to exterminate wasps that have large wasps nests or are persistent. I usually end up using almost the whole can and more than one application to kill the wasps. I found a great product that only required one application and most nests I get rid of are about the size of a orange. The product instead of being a liquid when it is sprayed shoots a stream of foam and the foam adheres to the nest and stays on the nest for several minutes. Best time to apply wasp killing products is very late in the evening when they are not as active. If you get stung a poultice of meat tenderizer applied to the sting should lessen the pain.
